Privacy Policy

Unseen does not collect, store, share, or transmit any personal data — ever. Unseen is a Mac utility that blurs or hides parts of your screen. It is designed so that your screen content cannot leave your device.

In short: no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, no third parties, and no network access at all. Everything happens locally on your Mac.

Data we collect

None. Unseen has no servers and no network capability. It cannot send data anywhere because it ships with no network permission — the macOS App Sandbox blocks any outgoing connection at the system level.

Screen content

To blur the area behind a zone, the advanced modes (Gaussian, Pixelate, Text) capture the screen region using Apple's ScreenCaptureKit and Apple's on‑device Vision framework. These captured pixels are:

processed entirely on your Mac, in memory, only to render the blur;
never written to disk, never logged, and never transmitted;
discarded as soon as they are displayed.

The only file Unseen ever writes is a screenshot you explicitly export, saved to the location you choose.

Permissions

Screen Recording (optional): requested only the first time you use a capture‑based mode, so Unseen can read the area you want to blur. Used locally only. You can revoke it any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen Recording.
Files (you choose): only to save a blurred screenshot you export.

Unseen does not use the Accessibility permission and is not a keylogger.

Settings & profiles

Your preferences and saved profiles are stored locally on your Mac (in standard app preferences). They never leave your device.

Third parties

None. Unseen uses only Apple's own frameworks. There are no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs of any kind.

Children

Unseen collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
